Club Mid-Year Report
Blossomland Pirates Parrot Head Club 2017 Mid-Year Report Charitable Activities
January 20 – 22 Barefoot Children in the Sand (Paul Pantaleo) Held our 5th annual Weekend event jointly with the Parrot Heads in Michiana. Held at the Silver Beach Hotel in downtown St. Joseph and new this year we had our Friday and Saturday entertainers perform at Czar’s Nightclub which is about 1 ½ blocks away from the hotel. This was our best year raising a total of $5700.00 for the weekend, which the clubs split 50:50. Our donation went to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Climbing for Cancer team. Since our donation was over $2500.00 we are now a Platinum Donor for 2017. This means the club will receive publicity in all Berrien County, Michigan ACS fund raising activities in 2017.
April 17 Wine Tasting for Relay for Life (Larry Ward) Annual wine tasting held at a local winery the club donated a purple themed basket for their silent auction. The basket contributed $75.00 towards the money raised that evening. In addition two of our members were in attendance.
June 24 Relay for Life Walk for Life (Danielle & Ted Zebell) With our designation as a Platinum donor we had a tent at the Berrien County, MI annual Walk for Life. This year the walk was held at a local high school. We had four members in attendance where we passed out purple leis and information about the club to the participants.
We held monthly phlockings at various locations in our area.
