CD Release Party for Don Middlebrook on Oct. 13 was a great evening. We had a good turnout that night. Don performed songs from his new CD, Guitar Island, and several others keeping us all entertained. Watermark was a gracious host with a variety of good beer and the food they arranged for was excellent. Our charity was #BerrienCountyStrong with funds going towards new safety equipment for the Sheriff’s Dept. Berrien County Sheriff, Don Bailey talked about the two bailiff’s who were killed this summer and the other sheriff and bystander who were injured when a prisoner tried to escape. Overall this fund has raised well over $40,000 so our Sheriff’s will soon have better vests, holsters, flashlights, and other needed items. We had raffled two gift baskets that night, one of which was won, returned, and re-raffled again. Don donated koozies that we sold and we did receive some donations in the mail. In the end we raised $743.00 to add to this worthy cause. Not bad for a couple hours on a Thursday evening! As a club bonus we had two new members join our crew that evening. Maureen Ovington from Coloma and Mark Reiman from Holland.
